MTA Weekender: August 7-10, 2026

There are service changes on the subway this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.

Happy Friday, riders! Let’s not beat around the bush—it’s a hot one in New York this week, with extreme heat conditions continuing into the weekend, so if you’re headed out, make sure you stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and stay in the shade if possible. If you're traveling to JFK airport , note that  ​ trains are running in two sections this weekend. For a direct trip, take the  ​ to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport or the  ​ to Howard Beach-JFK Airport.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •   trains aren't running between 14 St and South Ferry. 
  •   trains aren't running between 34 St-Penn Station and Brooklyn.
  • In the Bronx,   trains are running on the   and   trains are running on the  .
  •   trains aren't running.
  •   trains are running on the   in Brooklyn.
  • There is no   service at Norwood-205 St. 
  •   trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs. 
  •   trains aren't running between Crescent St and Broadway Junction and are running in two sections.
  •   trains aren't running between Manhattan and Queens, and are running in two sections.
  •   trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island between Manhattan and Queens.

Major subway service changes

      trains, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday: 

  •   trains aren't running between 14 St and South Ferry. 
    •   trains are running between Van Cortlandt Park-242 St and 14 St, every 8 minutes during the day and evening. 
    • During the day on Saturday, uptown   trains are running nonstop from 96 St to 137 St-City College. 
    • During the day on Sunday, downtown   trains are running nonstop from 137 St-City College to 96 St. 
  •   trains aren't running between 34 St-Penn Station and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College. 
    •   trains are running between 34 St-Penn Station and E 180 St and on the   to/from Eastchester-Dyre Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening. 
  •   trains are suspended. 
  •   trains are running between Woodlawn and New Lots Av, making local stops in Brooklyn (except Hoyt St). 
  •   trains are running between E 180 St and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College, making local stops in Brooklyn (except Hoyt St), and on the   to/from Wakefield-241 St.
  •   42 St Shuttle is running overnight.

  • For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the      
  • In the Bronx: 
    • Take the   for service between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St. 
    • Take the   for service between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St.
  • For service between Harlem-148 St and 135 St, take free shuttle buses, which are making all   stops between these stations.
  • For service between 34 St-Penn Station and 14 St, take the  
  • For service between 14 St and Chambers St, use nearby     stations. 
  • For service between Chambers St and South Ferry, and Chambers St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take nearby     trains. 
  • In Brooklyn: 
    • Take    trains for service between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College.
    • Take the   for service to New Lots Av.
    • Take the   for service to Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College.

  trains, the Bronx and Brooklyn

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, there is no   service at Norwood-205 St because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from Norwood-205 St, take free shuttle buses, which are running between Bedford Park Blvd and Norwood-205 St.
  •   trains are running between Bedford Park Blvd and Coney Island-Stillwell Av all weekend.
    • Coney Island-bound   trains are running from Bedford Park Blvd to Coney Island-Stillwell Av all weekend, but are rerouted via the   from 36 St to Coney Island-Stillwell Av from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. 

  trains, Brooklyn and Queens

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,   trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs because of signal modernization.

  • For service between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, take free T403 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all   stops. 
  • When exiting the subway at Court Sq, Lorimer St (Metropolitan Av), or Bedford-Nostrand Avs, get a GO Ticket from a station agent for re-entry.
  •   trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.
    • Bedford-Nostrand Avs-bound   are running express from Church Av to Smith-9 Sts during this time, stopping only at 7 Av. For service to/from skipped stations, take a Coney Island-bound   train or Church Av-bound   train. 

  trains, Brooklyn

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,   trains aren't running between Crescent St and Broadway Junction and are running in two sections: 

  • Between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
  • Between Broadway Junction and Broad St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.

This is because of track replacement. 

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Crescent St and Broadway Junction, making all   stops. 

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

  trains aren't running between Queensboro Plaza and Times Sq-42 St from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, and are running in two sections:

  • Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza.
  • Between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Times Sq-42 St.

This is because of track replacement. 

  • For service between Queens and Manhattan, take the  .
  • At Queensboro Plaza, all   trains are stopping at the Manhattan-bound platform.
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St and 5 Av/59 St, use nearby 59 St    .
  • For service to/from 49 St and 57 St-7 Av, take    trains.
    •   trains are running local in both directions.

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

  trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island between 36 St and 57 St-7 Av in both directions all day Saturday and Sunday because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from Queens Plaza, take the  .
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St and 5 Av/59 St, use nearby 59 St    .

Other subway service changes

Several trains are skipping stops in one direction from Friday night to early Monday morning, unless otherwise specified. For service to/from skipped stops, take a train going the opposite direction.

  • During the day on Saturday, uptown   trains are running nonstop from 96 St to 137 St-City College. 
  • During the day on Sunday, downtown   trains are running nonstop from 137 St-City College to 96 St. 
  • From early Saturday morning to Sunday night, Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester. 
  • Manhattan-bound   trains are running express from Kings Hwy to Jay St-MetroTech.
