You've got plenty of options: NYC DOT's Summer Streets program kicks off with car-free block parties in Queens and Staten Island, or you could take in a movie under the stars. Beaches? Baseball games? Botanical gardens? The city is your proverbial oyster—and public transit can get you wherever you're going.
If you're traveling to JFK airport this weekend, note that trains are running in two sections this weekend. For a direct trip, take the to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport or the to Howard Beach-JFK Airport.

Major subway service changes
trains, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan
From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:
- trains aren't running between 14 St and South Ferry.
- trains are running between Van Cortlandt Park-242 St and 14 St, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.
- trains are not running between 34 St-Penn Station and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College.
- trains are running between 34 St-Penn Station and E 180 St and on the to/from Eastchester-Dyre Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.
- trains are suspended.
- trains are running between Woodlawn and New Lots Av, making local stops in Brooklyn (except Hoyt St).
- trains are running between E 180 St and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College, making local stops in Brooklyn (except Hoyt St), and on the to/from Wakefield-241 St.
- 42 St Shuttle is running overnight.

- Take the for service between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St.

- For service between Harlem-148 St and 135 St, take free shuttle buses, which are making all stops between these stations.
- For service between 34 St-Penn Station and 14 St, take the .
- For service between 14 St and Chambers St, use nearby stations.
- For service between Chambers St and South Ferry, and Chambers St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take nearby trains.
- In Brooklyn:
- Take trains for service between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College.
- Take the for service to New Lots Av.
- Take the for service to Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College.
trains, the Bronx
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, there is no service at Norwood-205 St because of track work.
- For service to/from Norwood-205 St, take free shuttle buses, which are running between Bedford Park Blvd and Norwood-205 St.
- trains are running between Bedford Park Blvd and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
trains, Brooklyn
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, trains aren't running between Crescent St and Broadway Junction and are running in two sections:
- Between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
- Between Broadway Junction and Broad St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
This is because of track replacement.
- Free shuttle buses are running between Crescent St and Broadway Junction, making all stops.
Other subway service changes
Several trains are skipping stops in one direction from Friday night to early Monday morning. For service to/from skipped stops, take a train going the opposite direction.
- From early Saturday morning to Sunday night, Woodlawn-bound trains aren't stopping at Bedford Park Blvd-Lehman College and Mosholu Pkwy.
- The last stop for alternate trains toward Woodlawn is 167 St. Transfer to a Woodlawn-bound train to continue your trip.
- During the day and evening, trains are running every 16 minutes between 167 St and Woodlawn.
- On Saturday during the early morning and daytime, Manhattan-bound trains are running express from Mets-Willets Point to 74 St-Broadway.
- Trains are boarding at the Flushing-bound platform at Junction Blvd during this time.
