What we're doing
Starting March 24, 2025 and continuing through 2027, there will be off-peak service changes at Hollis, Queens Village, and Elmont-UBS Arena stations.
On some weekdays after the morning rush hour until approximately 3 p.m., and overnight on some weeknights, trains won't stop at Hollis or Queens Village in one direction. Because of the track layout, when work is occurring on the westbound track, westbound trains also won't be able to stop at Elmont-UBS Arena. There will be no overnight work when there are events at UBS Arena.
Check Planned Service Changes or Service Status for the latest updates and service change schedule.
Why we're doing it
As part of our efforts to improve accessibility on the LIRR, we're building an elevator to the eastbound platform and a ramp to the westbound platform at Hollis.
We're also replacing the current four-car wooden platforms with eight-car concrete platforms equipped with snow-melt systems. This will make the station easier to use and reduce delays for all Hempstead Branch riders.
Travel options
If you're traveling to or from Hollis or Queens Village stations, LIRR tickets will be accepted on MTA buses. Show your railroad ticket to the bus operator.
The TrainTime app will show which trains are or aren't stopping, but won't show bus alternatives.
Hollis
The Q2 and Q3 buses connect the Jamaica Bus Terminal in Jamaica with Hollis Av at the west end of Hollis Station. Learn more about getting between the terminal and the LIRR's Jamaica Station.
The Q110 bus also runs along Jamaica Av and serves Parsons Blvd in Jamaica, where you can transfer to multiple buses to Jamaica Station.
Queens Village
The Q1 and Q36 buses connect the Jamaica Bus Terminal in Jamaica with Queens Village Station. Learn more about getting between the terminal and the LIRR's Jamaica station.
Elmont-UBS Arena
Use nearby Bellerose Station instead.
LIRR employees: These service changes will also affect train service at Hillside Support Facility. Please check the MTA intranet for alternate options.
