2025-2026 Exam Updates
About NYCT's new Online Application System
Effective December 16, 2025, certain exam applications must be submitted exclusively through the new OASys.
Candidates will be directed to the new system via the “APPLY” button. The process will remain unchanged for exams still being processed through the current system (PeopleSoft).
When applying for an exam in OASys, you will need to create a new account by following the system prompts.
Please note:
- Your new OASys account is separate from any existing account you may have on the current system.
- Applications submitted via OASys will only be visible in OASys.
- Previously existing applications will not be transferred to the new application.
Additional support materials and FAQs will be available through the OASys portal.

Transit Cleaner update
The current Transit Cleaner hiring list (No. 3610) will continue to be used to fill vacancies until the new hiring list becomes available in 2026.

Email us at examsunit@nyct.com with the subject line "CONTACT INFO UPDATE". If you are a Transit Employee, you should also submit the request to the BSC via the Employee Portal at www.mymta.info.
If you are on an established Civil Service list, you must also keep your contact information current with NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) via email at oasys@dcas.nyc.gov. You may miss a chance for appointment or promotion if DCAS does not have your correct contact information or SSN. For more information, please refer to the Special Circumstances guide.
COVID-19 vaccination
As of March 13, 2023, the MTA has suspended the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for all new hires, except those hired into direct health services-related roles.
